Let’s kick the tires and light the fires!
That’s about how I feel. It’s nice to be able to run again. In similar fashion to Olga, I got to sneak out for a long run this past weekend. Unfortunately my run was on the roads, but that was my fault for sleeping in.
The foam rolling, hip stretches and leg strengthening excercises are in full effect most nights, but they are totally welcome if I can stay healthy.
I have been crazy busy with freelance work consuming much of my free time, outside of, you know, normal work. One of my new clients is Julie Fingar of NorCal Ultras. I was/am helping her with race promotion for the Way Too Cool 50k and American River 50 events. She is awesome and I hope anyone heading out west tries to participate in one of her races. She really exemplifies the great qualities of the trail community as much as one can.
I just finished some work though, and I can’t concentrate anymore, so I am going to hit the apartment complex’ treadmill and crank the incline way up until I feel happily exhausted. Liza doesn’t have me down for a run today though, so I guess this is when I’ll find out if she embedded a tracking device on me at some point. After hearing about her Kenya training and SWAT team involvement…I just don’t know…
